This course will cover strategic allocation and oversight of resources to efficiently achieve public health goals within budget constraints. We will touch on public value as a concept used in the formulation of policies and management strategies that emphasizes the importance of delivering value to the public, or society as a whole, through government or public sector initiatives. We will also touch on ethics. Health departments must be ready to handle ethical dilemmas that arise in day-to-day practice. Ethical considerations underlie numerous aspects of public health practice.
